STIRRUP LEATHERS

A note about stirrup leathers. Many stores sell stirrup leathers made from bridle leather. These look great, however, they stretch a lot more than stirrup butt leather, which is tanned for up to twice as long as bridle leather. In many cases we buy name brand stirrup leathers from our wholesale suppliers and they are not aware of the difference. Where we know for certain, that the leather used is stirrup butt leather we declare this in the description of the products below. Oak bark stirrup butts are the strongest and most resistant to stretching. Web lined leathers are very resistant to stretching, however, they usually are wrapped in thinner softer leather for rider comfort and, therefore, wear out faster than stirrup butt leathers.
